In this project, you will have the opportunity to experience and
learn about some of the world's greatest art treasures. You will also
have the chance to think about art in its many forms - from painting
and sculpture to movies and music.

Activity 1: A Trip to an Online Museum
Fine art is truly a treasure. In this activity, you will explore online the
State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia. You can get to
       the museum's website at http://www.hermitagemuseum.org/.
There are many rooms and exhibits to explore. Take some time
to individually explore some of the exhibits. Find a piece of art that you really
appreciate and tell each other why you chose it. Then discuss some of these questions.

* What type of art do you especially like? Why?
* Is there an artist whose work you admire?
* If you could create a great piece of art, what type would it be? A sculpture, painting, mosaic?
Describe something you would like to create.

Are there other museum sites you would like to visit? Explore some and share the list.

Activity 2: Music to my Ears
N'Sync, Eminem, Metallica, Kid Rock, Beethoven, Janet Jackson or George Strait:
What is your favorite type of music and why? Do you like a particular group or band?
To begin this activity, create a top ten list of songs! It can include songs that are popular
now, or ones that were popular years ago. Include the title and name of the artist.
Compare your list. Are there any that are the same or are their similarities in your lists?
Can you find a group or band that you both like? Try it and see!

  Activity 3: The World's A Stage
Have you ever seen a Broadway play, been to the opera, or seen a live music performance?
Share an experience you have had. What did you like best about it? Describe the sets,
costumes, and actors. Have you ever been in a play or performed music in front of an audience?
Share any experiences you may have had.

Activity 4: Movie Magic

Whether it's an adventure, romance, drama or comedy, many people like to relax by
watching a movie. Movies can transport us to new places and even teach us new things.
Discuss your favorite movie. Who starred in the movie? What was the storyline? If you
could be a character in a movie, who would it be? Share your responses and explain
why you made the choices you did!
